optional features of pc based access control systems

Management software can be loaded onto one or many PCs in your business or organisation and different administrative rights can be allocated to each authorised user. Perhaps the Security Manager would be the only person who could alter users access permissions, but it may be convenient for your receptionist to be able to issue cards for visitors. Up to five PCs on a network may administer the system simultaneously.

  • * Access permissions can be set individually or by department.
  • * Different permissions for different groups of people are quick and straightforward.
  • * Some areas may be restricted to a specific group of users.
  • * Shift patterns may be set for departments and individuals.
  • * Access permissions are allocated instantly when a new user card is issued.
  • * An events screen allows viewing of ‘real time’ events as they are happening.
  • * Who is where in a building can be monitored.
  • * Doors being left propped open or a door being forced open can be instantly reported.
  • * In addition to ‘live’ information, reports can easily be created from the software.
  • * Access control systems can be linked to time recording for clocking in and out solutions.
  • * Fire alarm roll calls can be generated.
  • * Security patrol lists are available.
  • * Entry attempted by unauthorised personnel can be monitored.
  • * Personnel movement tracking is a standard feature.
  • * Create access control cards and passes with build in card design software, card printer required

more advanced features include:

  • * Links to intruder alarms:

Once you nominate those who have permission to unset and set the intruder alarm their access control card will disarm the intruder alarm before unlocking the door. If the alarm is set, only these nominated people will be able to access the building. This easy-to-use feature can help prevent false intruder alarm calls.

  • * Send e-mails and text alerts: Through an easy-to-use ‘Triggers and Actions' function, the access control system can send SMS or emails when a specified trigger happens. For example get an SMS message sent to your mobile if a door is forced or have an email sent to you when staff arrive late, or you simply want to locate somebody within the building.
  • * Interface with cctv systems: See who is at the door, before you let them in. View what is happening throughout your building and surrounding area.
  • * Manage the energy use of your building: Turn lights on when you arrive in the morning; turn them off when the alarm is set at night - easy with ‘Triggers and Actions’.
  • * Work hands free: Hands free access control enables any door equipped with hands free proximity readers to open with a range of up to 2.5m.

Doors are converted to hands free simply by wiring a hands free interface between the reader and control unit. Hands free access control cards are then supplied to users who require hands free access. Both standard and hands free cards will work on a Hands Free equipped door.

A choice of card readers may be used with our on-line systems; proximity fob or card, swipe-card or biometric. We can also integrate card readers from existing security systems; this way you can upgrade the security system whilst keeping the card readers and cards and simply transferring management to a new system.
